Sarah Lancaster grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, until her father's real estate job moved the family to Mission Viejo, California, when she was ten. Soon after, she began acting classes and landed a talent agent, and by 1993 she was a series regular on Saved by the Bell: The New Class. Her parents are Barbara, a homemaker, and Michael, in real estate, and she has a younger brother, Daniel. She was tutored on set from the eighth grade and took college courses at U.C. Irvine to graduate early, then moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time.
She has guest-starred on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Six Feet Under, That '70s Show, 7th Heaven, and Dawson's Creek, and played Leslie Landon in the CBS movie Michael Landon, the Father I Knew. On the big screen, she had a small but memorable role in Catch Me If You Can, working with Steven Spielberg and Leonardo DiCaprio. Her notable television roles include Madison Kellner on Everwood, a recurring part on Scrubs as Lisa, and a role on Boston Public. She starred in Dr. Vegas as Veronica Harold, a blackjack dealer, from 2004 to 2006, and then on What About Brian. Her most beloved role is Ellie Bartowski on Chuck, which earned her wide recognition.
