Biography

About Sally Sheffield

Edited by the community

Busty at 32D with a natural 36-24-35 figure, Sally Sheffield is a 5'4" former adult model with black hair and brown eyes. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 17, 1941, she is an American of Jewish ancestry. Her career in front of the camera was brief, concentrated in 1969, when she was already 28 years old.

Sheffield's most notable work came as Playboy's Playmate of the Month for the May 1969 issue, photographed by Pompeo Posar. Posar later described her as "an interesting lady, so smart." At the time of the shoot, she was two months pregnant, a fact that adds a unique layer to her centerfold history. She also did solo full nudity work as an adult model.

Beyond modeling, Sheffield was highly educated. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Wellesley College and a master's in musicology from the New England Conservatory of Music. Fluent in French and Hebrew, she spent six months on a kibbutz in Israel before her Playboy appearance. In 1965-66, she wrote music for and appeared on an NBC-TV children's series called The First Look. Her candid reason for becoming a Playmate? "Because it would be monetarily rewarding." She has a younger sister, Anita Sheffield, who also did some nude modeling.
