Ruth Roland

At 5'4" with red hair and blue eyes, Ruth Roland made her mark early in the silent film era. She began acting in 1908 at age 15 and worked steadily for 28 years, until 1936. Her career spanned both acting and producing, a rare combination for women of her time. She was American, born in San Francisco, California on August 26, 1892, and she died on September 22, 1937, at age 45.
