About Rosalind Chao
Standing at 5'6" with brown hair and brown eyes, Rosalind Chao has been a familiar face on screen since childhood. She began acting around age 12, and by the 1980s she was playing Soon-Lee Klinger on the CBS series AfterMASH. Her film credits include the 1993 drama The Joy Luck Club, where she played Rose Hsu Jordan, and the 2020 live-action remake of Mulan, in which she portrayed Hua Li, Mulan's mother.
For Star Trek fans, Chao is well known as Keiko O'Brien, a character she played on both Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine during the 1990s. She also appeared as Dr. Kim in the television series The O.C. in 2003. With a career spanning more than five decades, she has worked steadily across television and film.
