About RaiNao

Edited by the community

RaiNao has an athletic build, with black hair and brown eyes. Born Naomí Ramírez Rivera on May 26, 1994, in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, she carries her Boricua roots into her music. Her sound blends reggaeton, jazz, R&B, and alternative pop, shaped by her background in music theory and live performance. She signed with Rimas Entertainment in 2024.

Her professional music career began in 2020 with a reggae-infused cover of Víctor Manuelle's "He Tratado" on YouTube. Before going solo, she spent four years as a backup vocalist for Rafa Pabön, which helped her overcome stage fright and refine her voice. In 2022, her debut EP, ahora A.K.A. Nao, arrived under Rimas Entertainment's independent-focused label, Sonar. The EP included tracks like "Plug" and "Un Amarre" and experimented with urbano and alternative styles. Bad Bunny highlighted her track "LUV," leading to a performance at his Un Verano Sin Ti concert in San Juan.

In 2023, she played at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and contributed to Mora's album Estrella. Her debut album, Capicú, dropped in February 2024, mixing reggaeton, jazz, and R&B with experimental live horns and percussive rhythms. Tracks like "Roadhead" and "Naomi's Interlude" showed her range. That year, she also performed at Ceremonia and Baja Beach Fest.

RaiNao's career skyrocketed when she featured on Bad Bunny's "Perfumito Nuevo" from Debí Tirar Más Fotos, released in January 2025. The collaboration opened doors to the "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" residency in Puerto Rico and the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour. She has appeared frequently on the tour, especially at the Coliseo in Puerto Rico, sharing her unique style with audiences across Latin America and beyond. She is bisexual, a detail she has mentioned in interviews and reflected in her music's themes.
