About Phyllis Davis
With her slim figure, piercing blue eyes, and a confident, natural look, Phyllis Davis was a recognizable presence on American television for nearly three decades. She worked in the entertainment industry as an actress and model, and her career spanned from 1966 to 1995, with her active years covering about 29 years.
Born on July 17, 1940, in Port Arthur, Texas, Davis considered that town her hometown. Her family lived above their mortuary business, and she recalled having to stay very quiet during services. She also appeared in feature films including The Big Bounce, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Sweet Sugar, Terminal Island, The Day of the Dolphin, The Choirboys, and The Wild Women of Chastity Gulch. In 1975, she played Scarlett O'Hara in the pop musical Train Ride to Hollywood, a role she described as fun. On television, she had guest roles in Knight Rider, Magnum, P.I., The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and The Wild Wild West.
