About Penny Flame

Edited by the community

Penny Flame is a former actress, adult model, and porn star. She was born in Aurora, Colorado, on Tuesday 22nd of February 1983. Raised in the San Francisco Bay area, she studied business administration at San Diego State, with plans for hotel management. Her modeling career began after she answered an ad in the school newspaper. Later, an agent she met at a modeling job helped her enter adult work. Her stage name came from The Beatles' song "Penny Lane."

In 2003, Penny began making adult features to fund her education. Working four days a month, she earned enough to focus on her studies. Initially, she appeared only in solo still photography and later in solo or all-girl scenes. Her first adult film scene was in "Indian Givers" (2003), directed by Robby D. for Digital Playground. In 2005, she started working with men, and that year won the AVN Award for Best Solo Sex Scene for Repo Girl. This award boosted her confidence and helped her transition to working with men. Later in 2005, she appeared in her first big-budget film, DarkSide, Red Light District's first feature. She won two more AVN Awards for that film, one for Best Couples Sex Scene--Film with Herschel Savage and another for Best Group Sex Scene--Film.

Penny preferred gonzo films and signed an exclusive directing contract with Shane's World Studios. There, she produced her own line called "Blazed and Confused," which showed her advocacy for marijuana. In 2009, she entered the Pasadena Recovery Center for sex addiction, appearing on the TV series Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew. Initially, she planned to use the series for publicity, but she accepted that she had a serious compulsion. In March 2010, she appeared on Sober House. She then quit the porn business and married. She had a blog called "Becoming Jennie," wrote a column for the Huffington Post, and published a memoir, "I Am Jennie," in 2014. In 2016, she earned a Masters in Social Work and became a licensed psychotherapist. She is founder and CEO of the West Coast Anxiety Clinic in Washington state, which employs three therapists. She has appeared on Dr. Drew's podcast and hosts her own, "The Values Forward Show." Her specs list her American nationality and Caucasian ethnicity. She stands 5'2" with a slim body type. She has a tribal heart tattoo on her back and a navel piercing. Penny retired in 2022 after 19 years in the industry.
