Paulina Rubio

Mexican singer Paulina Rubio was born on June 17, 1971, in Mexico City, and she grew up in a family steeped in entertainment. Her mother, Susana Dosamantes, was an actress, so Paulina was surrounded by the arts from an early age. She began performing as a child and joined the pop group Timbiriche, where she became famous as an original member during the group's run from 1982 to 1991.

After Timbiriche, she launched her solo career with the 1992 album La Chica Dorada. Her most successful record, Paulina, came out in 2000 and helped revive Latin pop in that decade. Over her career, she has sold more than 15 million records worldwide, which places her among the best-selling Latin music artists. She has also worked as a judge on music competition shows, acted in television and film, modeled, and pursued business ventures. Recent projects include the Camino Golden Hits tour and new music.

Paulina has long been open about her personal life, including being a mother to one son. She has posed for artistic and provocative shoots, such as appearing on the cover of Spanish Cosmopolitan in 2006 wrapped in a Mexican flag, and a 2004 campaign for Andrea where she posed nude on a white horse in red sandals. She has also appeared in men's magazines and has done revealing work in telenovelas and films. Though she has never done full-frontal explicit content in major mainstream projects, her bold and sensual image has been a constant throughout her career.
