About Pam Bondi
Pam Bondi is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 87th United States attorney general, a post she held from 2025 to 2026. Before that, she was Florida's attorney general for two terms, from 2011 to 2019. She was the first woman to hold that office in Florida and the first Republican to win a second term. Her tenure in Washington was cut short when she was fired in April 2026 amid dissatisfaction over her handling of the Epstein files.
Bondi was born in Tampa, Florida, and graduated from the University of Florida and Stetson Law School. She worked as an assistant state attorney in Hillsborough County from 1994 to 2009, then won election as attorney general in 2010. In 2020, she served on President Donald Trump's defense team during his first impeachment trial. By 2024, she led the legal arm of the Trump-aligned America First Policy Institute. When Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration, Trump nominated her for the top Justice Department job. The Senate confirmed her 54–46 on February 4, 2025, and she was sworn in the next day. Her time in office lasted little more than a year.
Beyond politics, Bondi stands 5'9" with blonde hair and blue eyes, and she maintains an average build. She has been active in her fields since 1991. Her personal life has included two marriages and a long-term relationship; she has been with John Wakefield since 2017. Her career spans over three decades, from courtroom prosecutor to national political figure.
