Neve Adrianne Campbell is a Canadian actress, producer, writer, and voice actress. Born in Guelph, Ontario, she began acting in 1991, and by 1992 she had a starring role in the drama series Catwalk. Her breakthrough came as Julia Salinger on the Fox teen drama Party of Five, a role that ran from 1994 to 2000 and made her a teen idol. While on that show, she headlined the supernatural horror film The Craft, then rose to international fame as Sidney Prescott in Wes Craven's Scream, a slasher that became the highest-grossing of its kind for over two decades. She returned to the role across four sequels, spanning 25 years.

Campbell's filmography spans multiple genres. She appeared in the neo-noir Wild Things, the crime films Drowning Mona and Panic, and the dramas Last Call, The Company, and When Will I Be Loved. She also took on comedies like Churchill: The Hollywood Years and Relative Strangers. On television, she played Olivia Maidstone in The Philanthropist, LeAnn Harvey in House of Cards, and Margaret McPherson in The Lincoln Lawyer. She voiced roles in animation and contributed as a writer, with over three decades in the industry.

Her work has earned numerous awards, including a Saturn Award, an MTV Award, and a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for her performances in the first two Scream films. Campbell married Jeff Colt in 1995 and divorced in 1998. She later married John Light in 2007, divorcing in 2010. She has two sons with actor JJ Feild, one born in 2012 and one adopted in 2018. She keeps her personal life relatively private, but her professional legacy is defined by a genre role that made her one of horror's most enduring heroines.
