About Natalie Decker

Edited by the community

Natalie Lynn Decker began racing at 12 years old in 4-cylinder modified stock cars, and by the age of 14 she was already competing in the Super Stock class. She won four karting championships in two years, and in 2012 she took the class championship at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Her rapid rise continued when she finished third in points in the ARCA Midwest Tour as a rookie in 2013, earning Rookie of the Year honors. A year later, she collected seven limited late model and two super late model feature wins, which caught the attention of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program. She was added to the Rev Racing team in 2015 under that initiative.

The transition to national touring series was gradual but steady. Decker attempted her first NASCAR national series race in 2016, driving for MAKE Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series at Martinsville, but she did not qualify. That same year, she was one of seven drivers selected for the Alan Kulwicki Driver Development program, earning a $7,777 award. Her ARCA debut came in 2017 with Venturini Motorsports, and she ran the full season in 2018. She started that season by winning the pole at Daytona, and although she finished fifth in a crash-filled race, it was a sign of her potential. A hernia mid-season forced her to share driving duties, but she still finished seventh in points. In 2019, she moved to the Truck Series with DGR-Crosley, but her debut at Daytona ended early when a cut tire set her truck on fire. She later made headlines for an on-track altercation with Spencer Boyd at Kentucky, which resulted in a verbal warning from NASCAR.

Decker found more success in 2020 with Niece Motorsports. She scored a fifth-place finish at Daytona, the best result for a female driver in Truck Series history at that time. Health issues interrupted her season, including a hospitalization for gall bladder complications and a race she missed due to high blood pressure. She was not medically cleared for two races, being credited with a last-place finish at Las Vegas after her truck cleared inspection. In 2021, she made her Xfinity Series debut, driving the No. 23 for RSS Racing/Reaume Brothers Racing. She continued to race part-time in the following years, attempting races with multiple teams. In 2023, she joined Emerling-Gase Motorsports for part-time schedules in both the Xfinity Series and the ARCA Menards Series.

Off the track, Decker's family has deep roots in snowmobile racing. Her father Chuck won the 1987 World Championship Derby at Eagle River, and the family's history includes racing alongside the family of Danica Patrick. Decker has been open about living with rheumatoid arthritis, a condition she was diagnosed with at age two. She is engaged to fellow NASCAR driver Derek Lemke. As of late 2024, she had amassed 186,000 Instagram followers, 166,000 on TikTok, 25,000 YouTube subscribers, and 16,200 Twitch followers. She is 29 years old, stands 5'1", and has green eyes. Her slim build and petite stature are a contrast to the powerful stock cars she drives. She began racing at an early age, and her career has been marked by steady progress through the ranks. At 5'1" and 117 lbs, she is one of the smaller drivers in the garage. She's also competed in sports cars, including testing an LMP3 at Sebring and winning the SGT ProAm Challenge title in 2021. She is an American professional stock car racing driver who currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
