British actress and producer Naomi Watts was born in Shoreham, Kent, England, on 28 September 1968. After her family moved to Australia, she made her film debut in the drama For Love Alone (1986) and appeared in several television series, including Hey Dad..! (1990), Brides of Christ (1991), and Home and Away (1991). She then moved to the United States, where she initially struggled, taking roles in small-scale films until she starred in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive (2001). That role launched her to international prominence.

Watts became known for her work in remakes and independent films with dark or tragic themes. She played a tormented journalist in The Ring (2002) and earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance as a grief-stricken mother in 21 Grams (2003). Her career continued with roles in King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007), and The Impossible (2012), for which she received another Best Actress nomination. In the 2010s, she appeared in Birdman (2014), St. Vincent (2014), while also working in television, including Twin Peaks (2017) and The Loudest Voice (2019). She has also been an ambassador for UNAIDS and Pantene's Beautiful Lengths.

Watts is known for her slim build, blonde hair, and blue eyes. She measures 32-25-34, with a natural bust. She has been featured on lists of the world's most beautiful women by publications like People and Maxim. She is reticent about her personal life. She began a relationship with actor Liev Schreiber in 2005; their son Sasha was born in 2007, and their daughter Kai in 2008. They split in 2016.
