About Nao Kosaka
With her petite 5'4" frame, slim build, and natural A-cup figure, Nao Kosaka pairs black hair and brown eyes with a youthful, charming presence that has made her a standout in Japanese entertainment. Born on September 7, 2002, in Osaka, Japan, she grew up with her parents and an older brother, a fan of Keyakizaka46, which inspired her to audition for the group. Her early interest in performance was sparked by watching Hiragana Keyakizaka46's 2017 Zepp Namba show. Nao joined Hiragana Keyakizaka46's second generation on August 13, 2017, debuting with "No War in the Future," a B-side to Keyakizaka46's "Kaze ni Fukarete mo." After the group rebranded to Hinatazaka46 in February 2019, she became the center for their debut single "Kyun" and held this role for the first four singles and "Boku Nanka" (2022), making her the member with the most center roles in the group's history.
Beyond her idol career, Nao is a versatile performer. She has acted in the 2019 film Kyōfu Ningyō as Yuri Hirai, the 2021 film Jump!! The Heroes Behind the Gold as Noriko Kobayashi, and the 2020 drama Dasada as Sada Yuria. In 2024, she joined the taiga drama Dear Radiance as Sai'in no Chūjō and played Rin Arikawa in All of Tokyo. She was the center for Hinatazaka46's 14th single, "Love Yourself!" in April 2025. Her music includes tracks like "See Through" (duet with Miku Kanemura) and "Sekai ni wa Thank You! ga Afureteiru." A brief health-related hiatus in June 2021 caused her to miss the sixth single "Tteka," but she returned as center for "Boku Nanka" in March 2022.
Off stage, Nao's athletic background includes middle school volleyball, which she credits for enhancing her athleticism and stage presence. She debuted on the runway at GirlsAward 2018 Spring/Summer and was an exclusive model for Seventeen from May 2018 to November 2024, joining Non-no in March 2025 to project a mature image. Her photobook, Kimi wa Dare? (June 29, 2021), sold 166,876 copies, topping Oricon's 2021 photobook rankings. A dinosaur enthusiast, she was a Sony DinoScience ambassador in 2021. She remains close with many Hinatazaka46 members and former Keyakizaka46 members, and she reportedly has no tattoos or piercings. As of July 2025, she hosts Quest For The Future and models for Non-no, with no controversies attached to her name.
