About Nancy McKeon
Nancy McKeon started modeling diapers at the age of 2, but her big break came later, when a casting director spotted her in a Hallmark commercial and cast her as Jo Polniaczek on The Facts of Life. She joined the show in its second season, in the fall of 1980, and played the tomboy role for years. Her character often served as a splash of cold water to Blair Warner's ego.
Born in Westbury, NY, she grew up in Forest Hills, a neighborhood in Queens. Her brother, Philip McKeon, landed the role of Tommy on Alice, which led the family to move to Los Angeles. Nancy then began working in TV, with roles in Starsky & Hutch and Fantasy Island. She was in-demand enough as a child star that she often attended school via on-set tutors. She also appeared in soaps like The Secret Storm and Another World.
After The Facts of Life, she remained busy in Hollywood. She was courted by NBC for a TV adaptation of Working Girl, but the role went to Sandra Bullock. She also lost the role of Monica on Friends to Courteney Cox. She made many made-for-TV movies in the 80s and 90s, and voiced several ABC weekend specials, including the voice of Scruffy, an English Springer Spaniel. She had the lead in Can't Hurry Love (1995), which lasted only a season, and starred with Jean Smart in Style and Substance in 1998. From 2001 to 2004, she starred in The Division. She also appeared in Sonny with a Chance from 2009 to 2010.
Nancy married Marc Andrus, a key grip, in 2003. They have two kids and moved to a ranch outside Austin, TX. She has her own film company, Forest Hills Entertainment, named after the neighborhood where she grew up. She competed in season 27 of Dancing with the Stars. She once dated Michael J. Fox, but they kept it private. She is 60 years old, 5'6" tall, with brown hair and green eyes.
