Nancy Benoit

Nancy Elizabeth Benoit, known to wrestling fans as Woman, began her career in the early 1980s. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she became a glamour model before stepping into the ring as a professional wrestler. Her American nationality and Brown hair and eyes were part of her recognizable look, as were her Slim build and 5'4" frame. She worked in Florida Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and World Championship Wrestling, where she gained fame under the ring name Woman.

Her personal life was intertwined with her professional world. She married fellow wrestler Kevin Sullivan in 1985, but by early 1997, while still married, she began an affair with Chris Benoit. After divorcing Sullivan later that year, she and Chris became engaged, though he referred to her as his fiancée even after their marriage. The couple had a son, Daniel.

Tragedy struck in June 2007. Nancy, Chris, and Daniel were found dead in their Atlanta-area home. Authorities reported that Chris killed Nancy and Daniel before taking his own life. Nancy died of asphyxiation, and a Bible was left near her body. She was 43 years old. Her years in wrestling and modeling left a mark, though her life ended in a way that overshadowed her career.
