About Nadja Auermann

Edited by the community

Standing 5'11" with blonde hair and blue eyes, Nadja Auermann is a German supermodel recognized for her striking look. Born on 19 March 1971 in Berlin, Germany, she began her career in 1989 after being discovered in a cafe in Berlin, leading to a contract with Karin Modeling Agency in Paris. She later moved to Elite Model Management in 1991. Her rise was swift: by September 1994, she graced the covers of both Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. The Guinness Book of Records once stated she had the longest legs of any model in the world, a feature that became her signature. Designer Valentino noted her physical resemblance to Marlene Dietrich, and New York Times fashion columnist Guy Trebay wrote of her "ice maiden visage and pole vaulter's legs."

Throughout her extensive career, Auermann walked runways for Thierry Mugler, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, and Yves Saint Laurent. She also appeared in advertising campaigns for Prada, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and Hermès, and served as the international spokesperson for Shiseido in the late 1990s. Her portfolio includes more than 100 magazine covers worldwide, spanning Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and i-D. She collaborated with photographers such as Helmut Newton, Steven Meisel, Craig McDean, Juergen Teller, and Peter Lindbergh, who considered her his muse. Her measurements are 36–25–36, with a slim body type and 36A bra size, and she is open to topless-only solo work.

In her personal life, Auermann became a mother in 1997 to daughter Cosima, whose father is Olaf Björn Tietz. Cosima later became a model. In 1999, she married German actor Wolfram Grandezka, and their son Nicolas was born that same year; Nicolas also pursued modeling. The couple divorced a few years later. She had two more children in 2010 and 2013. Auermann enjoys holidays in the spa town of Heiligendamm on Germany's Baltic coast. In 2011, a German court convicted her of tax evasion and fined her 90,000 EUR. She later revealed in a 2013 interview that she was living with her children and a partner, whose name she kept secret, in Dresden. Her Instagram following is 60k.
