Moana Pozzi

Born in Genoa, Italy, she was the daughter of a nuclear engineer and a housewife. Her name, Moana, is Polynesian for "ocean." As a child, she lived in Canada and Brazil due to her father's work, before returning to Italy at thirteen. In 1979, weeks before turning eighteen, she gave birth to her only child, a son named Simone, who was raised by her parents as her younger brother. She later moved to Rome, worked as a model, studied acting, and appeared in commercials and comedy walk-ons.

Her first hardcore film came in 1981, credited as Linda Heveret, while she was still on a children's TV show, sparking a scandal that made her famous in the press. She went on to star in roughly 100 pornographic films, working with directors like Gerard Damiano in Los Angeles. She also performed with notable partners including Rocco Siffredi, Roberto Malone, Ron Jeremy, Peter North, Sean Michaels, and Christopher Clark. Beyond adult film, she appeared in Federico Fellini's "Ginger and Fred" in 1985 and later entered politics. She sold about a million videotapes, graced the covers of fifty major magazines, and was reportedly worth over 50 billion lire. In 1994, she fell ill and died in Lyon, France, at age 33, reportedly of liver cancer. Her sister, Maria "Baby" Pozzi, also became a pornographic actress. She was Italian.
