Biography
About Miranda Frigon
Standing 5'4" with a slim build, brown hair, and blue eyes, Miranda Frigon has spent nearly three decades as an actress and musician. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and began performing at age eight, appearing in numerous television commercials. Her early life revolved around competitive gymnastics, ballet, and classical piano, and she traveled across Canada with her gymnastics team while training professionally as a dancer. She went on to dance in a ballet company for several years before joining a more diverse company that toured with various dance styles. Miranda later studied Theater and Psychology at the University of Alberta, where she also competed on the varsity gymnastics team. A scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City followed, where she trained in musical theater before landing her first recurring television role on Disney's "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids."
Returning to Canada, she settled in Vancouver, B.C., and quickly booked guest spots on U.S. network shows like "The 4400," "Higher Ground," "The Chris Isaak Show," "John Doe," "True Calling," and "The Dead Zone." In her spare time, she wrote music and performed live with her band around Vancouver. A 13-episode run on UPN's "Jake 2.0" led producers to place two of her original songs in the series, kickstarting her music career in film and television. Her television credits expanded to include notable guest roles on "Bones," "Ugly Betty," "Dexter," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "V," "Motive," "Supernatural," and "The Magicians." She was nominated for a Canadian Leo Award in 2013 for her leading role on Syfy's "Primeval: New World" and was recurring for five seasons on the hit drama "Heartland." She is now most recognized for her leading role on Hallmark's "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries." This role earned her a second Leo nomination in 2015.
Miranda's original song "Hiding Place" appeared in episode 5 of "Primeval: New World," unleashing a worldwide fan base for her music. Since then, her original songs have been placed in television series and films by Fox, Paramount, The CW, NBC, UPN, CBC, Space, Syfy, Hallmark, and Lifetime. In 2017, she released her Kickstarter fan-funded album "First," available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and other online stores. She is Canadian, with a mole on her right cheek near her nose, and her natural 36B bust is part of her 35–25–35 measurements.
