Biography
About Michelle Bauer
Michelle Bauer is a name that carries weight in two very different worlds: the golden age of adult film and the heyday of B-movie horror. Born on October 1, 1958, in Montebello, California, she grew up to become an American actress and former adult model, with a career that has now spanned more than four decades. Her early fame came in July 1981 when she was named Penthouse Pet of the Month, a title she earned at just 22 years old.
That Penthouse centerfold opened doors. It led to work with the Playboy Channel and caught the attention of director Fred Olen Ray, who offered her a film role on the condition she dye her hair black. She did, and her first B-movie, The Tomb, came out in 1986. It was the first of many. Bauer became a familiar face in low-budget horror and exploitation films, earning the nickname scream queen for her frequent roles in slasher and horror titles. She also appeared in the cult classic Cafe Flesh in 1982, which she was happy to do, though she insisted on a double for the sex scenes.
Bauer's filmography is not limited to one genre. Under the stage name Pia Snow, she starred in several adult films, including Bad Girls, Bizarre People, and Nightdreams, often appearing in bondage gear. She was also a bondage model. Her solo work included full nudity, and her girl-girl scenes were softcore, limited to kissing. She has also been the subject of a 2011 documentary, Screaming in High Heels: The Rise and Fall of the Scream Queen Era.
The name Bauer is her married name from her first husband. After their divorce, he tried to stop her from using it. She briefly appeared under the name Michelle McClellan, her second husband's surname, in Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, but the press insisted on Bauer, and her first husband eventually relented. This episode is just one example of the practical challenges she faced in her career. Bauer stands 5'7" tall with a slim build, and she has natural breasts. Her measurements are 34–24–34.
