Biography
About Michaela McManus
A statuesque blonde with piercing blue eyes, Michaela McManus carries herself with the quiet confidence of someone who spent years in front of a camera. Standing at 5'9" and maintaining a slim build, she looks every bit the part of the versatile actress she has become. Born on May 20, 1983, in Warwick, Rhode Island, she grew up in a family that supported her artistic ambitions. Her Irish heritage has always been a point of subtle pride, though she rarely discusses it in interviews.
McManus began her acting career in 2008, at the age of 25, and quickly made a name for herself. Her breakout role came as Lindsey Strauss in the fifth season of One Tree Hill, where she played the love interest of Lucas Scott. After that, she took on a guest role in CSI:NY before landing a recurring part as Assistant District Attorney Kim Greylek on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Her time on SVU was brief, as she was written out mid-season, but she remained in the opening credits for the rest of the year. In the years since, she has appeared in a wide range of television shows, including Castle, CSI: Miami, The Vampire Diaries, Hawaii Five-0, Awake, Aquarius, SEAL Team, The Orville, and The Village. More recently, she joined the cast of the Netflix thriller You in a recurring role.
Her personal life is as full as her professional one. She married writer and producer Mike Daniels in 2011, and together they have three children: sons Gabriel and Declan, and a daughter named Indigo. Family life keeps her busy, but she continues to take on selective projects that challenge her as an actress. With an Instagram following that has grown to over 101k, she maintains a presence online, though she keeps her posts focused on her work and occasional personal moments. At 43, McManus shows no signs of slowing down, balancing her roles as a mother and a performer with practiced ease.
