Mia May

Born in Vienna in 1884, Mia May was an Austrian actress whose career peaked in the silent film era before she stepped away in 1924. She died in 1980 at the age of 96, leaving behind a long life that spanned nearly a century. Her work remains a part of early cinema history.

May's roots were firmly Austrian, and she embodied a classic European look: blonde hair, blue eyes, and a slim figure. She identified as straight and was of Caucasian ethnicity. Little else is known about her personal life or the details of her performances, but her active years in film, which concluded in 1924, mark her as a figure from the formative period of the medium.
