Marina Matsumoto

Matsumoto debuted in the adult industry in 1988 at age 19, appearing in the omnibus production THE Sailor Suit 4. Her popularity soon crossed into mainstream media. At Keisuke Kuwata's request, she starred in the Southern All Stars music video for 'Megamitachi e no Jouuta.' She also appeared on the variety show Tamori Club and gained attention in 1989 in the live-action adaptation of the manga Kyonyu Hunter. In 1990, she retired from the industry to marry, spending the next two decades as a housewife and raising her son. Her husband's illness led to a sexless marriage, which she credits with awakening a new sense of sexual discovery through an outside relationship, eventually paving the way for her return.

In 2011, after a 21-year hiatus, the 41-year-old made a comeback. Her comeback film sold over 3,000 copies and positioned her at the forefront of the 'mature woman' boom. Her second stint featured almost no taboos, moving into hardcore genres including SM, lesbian, and anal themes. She worked with majors like Madonna and Tameike Goro and earned critical acclaim for her performances in 'mother-in-law' and 'neighbor' themed dramas. She also received a nomination for the Mature Actress Award at the SKY PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Awards. On June 9, 2019, her 50th birthday, she announced her second retirement, citing physical limitations, her son's college graduation, and reaching a milestone age. She then opened a karaoke bar in Ginza called 'Lounge Tomo,' and around 2022 she relocated to the countryside to care for her parents. She remains active on YouTube (MARINA OFFICIAL, launched June 2021) and Instagram.
