Marin Hinkle

Marin Hinkle is an American actress with a career spanning over three decades. She was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where her parents were serving in the Peace Corps. The family moved to Boston when she was four months old, and her younger brother Mark was born two years later. Her father Rodney was a school teacher, and her mother Margaret is a judge.

Hinkle first aspired to be a ballerina, studying dance until an ankle injury at 16 changed her path. Encouraged by her parents to pursue acting, she still earned a Master's degree as a backup. She attended Brown University and later NYU, where she admits she struggled in acting classes. In 1992 she met Randall, a theater director, whom she later married. After a nine-month separation, they moved to a Hollywood home.

Her early career included theater performances in 'Electra' and 'The Tempest,' followed by minor movie roles and TV guest spots. She gained recognition as a co-star on 'Once and Again' (1999), then played Judith Harper on 'Two and a Half Men' (2003). She also made guest appearances on 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'.
