Marija Vukovic

Standing 6'4" with a blonde ponytail often in motion, Marija Vukovic cuts an unmistakable figure on the high jump apron. She is Montenegrin, and her athletic build and real, natural strength have carried her through nearly two decades of competition. Born in Knin, Croatia, in 1992, she began competing at fourteen, turning professional in 2007. Her list of achievements is historic for her nation. At the 2010 World Junior Championships, she won gold, becoming Montenegro's first ever medallist in a global athletics competition. Twelve years later, she earned silver at the 2022 European Championships in Munich, another first for her country. Now 33, she remains active on the circuit, her Instagram following of 34k a modest but loyal echo of her elite status.
