Biography
About Margaret Quimby
Margaret Quimby (1904–1965) was an American stage and film actress whose career spanned the silent and early sound eras. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and began acting professionally around age 19. She appeared in both lead and supporting roles during the 1920s. There is a suggestion that she replaced fellow silent film actress Edna Marion in the movie "Heads Up, Charley" (1927).
Quimby's transition to talking pictures in the early 1930s proved difficult. Her speaking voice was not dynamic enough for talkies, and her Hollywood career came to an abrupt end. She died on August 26, 1965, at age 60, in her hometown of Minneapolis.
