Biography
About Maggie Mae Fish
With her petite frame, brown hair, and blue eyes, Maggie Mae Fish carries the look of a film school grad who never quite left the theater. At 5'3" and 120 lbs, she's a slim presence on screen, but her career spans far beyond acting. She's been active since 2011, starting around age 18, and has since built a reputation as a writer, comedian, and YouTuber. Her video essays and short films apply a queer and feminist lens to classic cinema, earning over 7 million views. She recently launched her show UNRATED for Nebula, a platform for creators.
Before that splash, Maggie was a staff writer at CRACKED and co-host of the popular podcast "Obsessive Pop Culture Discussion." She's written for shows like MATTY PAZ IS A N00B and the ADAM RIPPON TALK SHOW, and developed projects for DreamworksTV, Amazon, JASH, ScreenJunkies, College Humor, and Channel Frederator. Her pilot "Pacific Park" was a Sundance Lab finalist, and other projects made the Red List and Blood List. Her face has appeared in national commercials and award-winning shorts and features. Her work has been featured in Polygon, Forbes, Vulture, and Film School Rejects.
Maggie grew up in a town of fewer than 1,000 people in Michigan, raised on queer Irish Catholic guilt. Films became her connection to the wider world, a love affair that's continued ever since. She studied theatre, film studies, and creative writing at Northwestern University, while sneaking off to perform at iO Chicago, sometimes lying about her age to drink. She's American, Caucasian, and openly bisexual. Now, at 33, she continues to create content that challenges and entertains, all while her mom reads her Twitter.
