About Maddy Curley
Maddy Curley, born December 3, 1981, is an American actress and stuntwoman. Standing 5'4", she made her feature film debut in Disney's Stick It, playing gymnast Mina Hoyt in the 2006 film. She went on to appear in bit parts in Least Among You and The Perfect Game, and took lead roles in several independent films. Her television credits include guest roles on CSI New York, The Office, Party Down, and a two-part season finale of Cold Case. In Chalk It Up, she starred in another gymnastics-themed movie. For Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019, she served as both body double and stunt double for a younger Sarah Connor in flashback scenes, with CGI recreating Linda Hamilton's facial likeness from the 1990s.
Before acting, Curley was a gymnast. She competed for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels from 2001 to 2004. Over those four years, she was a four-time Academic All-American, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a four-time competitor at the NCAA Regional Championships. She also participated in Lab! Theatre, Company Carolina, and Athletes in Action on campus. After graduating, she was one of 1,300 graduates chosen from 13,000 applicants for the Teach America program, which places educators in low-income and rural areas. She spent much of 2004-2005 teaching Language Arts to students in Rocky Mount, a rural community.
Curley, a native of Tallahassee, Florida, brings the same competitive drive to acting that she had as a top gymnast. She encourages those she meets to hold onto their dreams, pointing to her own path as proof that hard work and perseverance can turn goals into reality.
