About Lori Saunders
American actress Lori Saunders, born Linda Marie Hines on October 4, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, is best remembered for her role as Bobbie Jo Bradley on Petticoat Junction. She played the brunette middle sister in 147 episodes of the rural sitcom, taking over the part in 1965 from Pat Woodell, who left to focus on singing. Co-star Meredith MacRae, who joined in 1966, said they were very close, 'like the Bobbsey twins,' since both were married and had replaced other actresses.
Saunders also appeared as Betty Gordon, one of Mr. Drysdale's secretaries, in the last season of The Beverly Hillbillies. In 1973–74, she played Betsy on Dusty's Trail, a western comedy created by Sherwood Schwartz and starring Bob Denver. The show was based on Gilligan's Island, and her character was an ingénue similar to Mary Ann. Saunders joked, 'It was the same show, just no coconuts.'
Her early television work included five appearances as four different characters on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, plus roles on Burke's Law and Rawhide. She also appeared in a 1970 episode of Daniel Boone and in Bob Hope Presents The Chrysler Theatre. In 2015, she reunited with Linda Kaye Henning and Gunilla Hutton for a MeTV commercial. Standing 5'5" with an average build, she has brown hair and brown eyes. She retired from acting in 1980 after a 20-year career.
