Biography
About Linda Lovelace
Linda Lovelace was born Linda Susan Boreman in the Bronx, New York, on January 10, 1949. Raised in a working-class family with strong religious values, she earned the nickname "Miss Holy Holy" in high school. At age 20, she moved to Florida to recover from a car accident. There she met Chuck Traynor, a man who would dominate the next years of her life. Their relationship was marked by allegations of abuse, and she later stated that he coerced her into the adult film industry.
Under Traynor's control, she worked in low-budget adult films and took part in what she described as degrading scenarios. Her most famous role came in 1972 with the film "Deep Throat," which became a cultural phenomenon and grossed over $600 million on a $22,000 budget. Despite its success, she claimed she was forced into the role and received little of the profit. The film made her a household name, but her experience in the industry was one of exploitation.
She escaped Traynor in 1974 and later married Larry Marchiano in 1976, settling in Denver. In the 1980s, she became an outspoken feminist advocate, working alongside figures like Gloria Steinem and Andrea Dworkin. Through her memoirs, including "Ordeal" and "Out of Bondage," she exposed the abuse she endured and campaigned against the porn industry. Her life was cut short by a car accident on April 22, 2002, at age 53. She remains a complex figure whose story continues to spark conversation about agency and exploitation. Her measurements were 38–24–33. She was straight and of Caucasian ethnicity.
