Liga Velvere

A tall, athletic presence with strawberry blonde hair, she moves with the ease of someone who has spent nearly two decades on the track. This is Līga Velvere, a Latvian athlete born in Saldus on 10 February 1990. She competes in the 800 metres and 400 metres hurdles, two events that demand both speed and endurance. Standing 5'7" and weighing 130 lbs, her athletic build is suited to the demands of middle-distance running.
