Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano

Letizia's career began in journalism, a path that took her from local papers to international news desks. She worked for ABC and EFE, covered the 2000 U.S. presidential elections from Washington, D.C., and reported from Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks. She later anchored Telediario 2, Spain's most-watched newscast. Her first marriage, a civil ceremony in 1998 to writer Alonso Guerrero Perez, ended in divorce the next year. In 2004, she married Felipe, then Prince of Asturias, in a grand royal wedding at Almudena Cathedral, the first royal wedding there in nearly a century.
