About Lee Chae-rin
South Korean, Lee Chae-rin is a model and musician who has spent nearly two decades in the public eye. Born in Seoul, she spent much of her early life in Japan and France, experiences that would later color her international outlook. She first gained recognition as a member of the girl group 2NE1, which debuted in 2009 and became one of the most popular South Korean acts worldwide. During her time with the group, she also built a solo career, releasing tracks like "The Baddest Female" in 2013 and "MTBD" in 2014. After 2NE1 took a hiatus in 2015, she continued as a solo artist, and her 2016 single "Lifted" made her the first Korean female solo artist to enter the Billboard Hot 100. The group officially disbanded in November 2016, and she remained with YG Entertainment until leaving in December 2019. That same year, she released her solo EP In the Name of Love, and her debut studio album Alpha followed in October 2021. When 2NE1 reunited in July 2024, she resumed group activities under YG Entertainment.
Her contributions have been recognized far beyond music. In 2015 and 2016, she ranked 2nd and 25th in Time's readers polls for the 100 Most Influential People, and she was included on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list in 2019. The Guardian also named her among the best girl group members of all time. In addition to her musical work, she is widely regarded as a style icon, a reputation that extends to her modeling career. She stands at a petite 5'3", has a slim build, natural breasts, blonde hair, and hazel eyes. With over 10.7 million Instagram followers, she remains a significant presence in both music and fashion.
