About Laura Pausini
A slender figure with black hair and hazel eyes, Laura Pausini often appears on stage in elegant attire that complements her 5'8" frame, a presence that has become familiar across five decades of music. She began her career in 1993, winning the Sanremo Festival in the New Proposals section with the song "La solitudine," and confirmed her success the following year by finishing in third place with "Strani amori." Since then, she has released fourteen studio albums, two international greatest hits albums, and one compilation album for the Anglophone market only.
Pausini's voice has carried her far beyond Italy. She sings in four languages: English, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. In 2006, she won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for the record Escucha. In 2021, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song with "Io sì (Seen)" from the film The Life Ahead, and the single also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, making it the first Italian-language song to win that honor.
In her personal life, Pausini has been in a relationship with Italian guitarist, composer, and producer Paolo Carta since 2005. The couple, who married on 22 March 2023 after 18 years together, have a daughter born on 8 February 2013. Beyond music, Pausini is active on social media, with millions following her on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where she shares glimpses of her life and work. As a musician, she continues to record and perform, her Italian heritage woven into every note she sings.
