Biography
About Kristen Alderson
Kristen Alderson started performing early. At four, her dance class appeared on a locally televised talent show, and she was soon picked to perform weekly. An agent spotted her and suggested auditioning for Broadway's Annie. She landed the role of Molly, later touring nationally. By age six, she won the part of Starr Manning on One Life to Live, first airing March 20, 1998. She grew into a fan favorite and earned a Soap Opera Digest Award for Favorite Teen in 2005.
Alderson's soap career crossed networks. After One Life to Live ended in 2012, she and her brother, actor Eddie Alderson, declined an online revival. She joined General Hospital, where a rights dispute forced her character change. She debuted as Kiki Jerome in 2013, winning a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress for her work as Starr. She left General Hospital in 2015. Since then, she has acted in theater, film, and TV, including Off-Broadway's The Marvelous Wonderettes, the film The Glorious Resurrection of Claire Owens, and a Lifetime movie. She has also sung on charity albums and performed the national anthem at a Cardinals game.
Alderson was born in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, on May 29, 1991. She and her brother attended a performing arts high school in New York. She is American, and a 35-year-old actress with blonde hair and blue eyes. She stands 5'5" and has a slim build. She and her partner, Taylor Crousore, co-starred in Newsical and launched the podcast Expecting You in 2023. They welcomed their first child that year.
Alderson's career spans 29 years, from child performer to award-winning soap actress. Her recent work includes the Lifetime film The Man in the Guest House and the pilot of Mélange. She remains open to returning to General Hospital as Starr now that rights have changed.
