About Kirstie Maldonado
Kirstie Maldonado, born May 16, 1992, in Fort Worth, Texas, is an American actress and musician. She is best known as a founding member of the a cappella group Pentatonix, which she helped form in 2011 while studying music theater at the University of Oklahoma. Her mixed-race heritage includes a Spanish-Italian mother and a Mexican father, and she was a National Hispanic Scholar in high school.
Before joining Pentatonix, she spent eight years touring with Theatre Arlington, where she learned to sing eight-part harmonies. She also had classical training in high school and performed with the Texas All State Choir for three years. As a show choir member and dance captain, she took on numerous roles in local productions around the Metroplex, including at Casa Manana and Bass Hall. She is 5'4" with black hair and brown eyes, and she has nine tattoos and an eyebrow piercing.
