Kay Kent

Kay Kent was a fetish model and model who became famous as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. She was born on November 6, 1963, in Chatham, United Kingdom, and was British. As a teenager, she became obsessed with Marilyn Monroe, who died in 1962. Kent repeatedly bleached her naturally brown hair to match Monroe's shade, practiced her pout, and spent $4,000 on breast augmentation to mirror Monroe's 38-inch bust.

Kent worked for the Lookalikes agency since 1983, earning $90,000 annually (almost £190,000 today) by impersonating Monroe in media advertising, British tabloids, and television. She appeared in Def Leppard's 'Photograph' promotional video in 1982, recreating Monroe's poses. In December 1987, she posed for risqué photos in Penthouse magazine.

In early 1989, her mother died of cancer, and she broke up with her childhood sweetheart, rock singer Dean Hammond. On June 12, 1989, she was found dead in her Chatham home, with an empty pill bottle, a half-empty vodka bottle, and photos of Monroe nearby. A note to Dean read, 'Dear Dean, I love you so very much.' Her brother said, 'She was so involved in her Marilyn image that she couldn't help herself.' She died at age 24.
