Kate French

Following in her parents' footsteps, French pursued a modeling career up until her senior year of high school, but she always had a passion for acting. Her first big-screen appearance came in 2006 with a small role in the film Accepted. That same year, she starred as Brooke Crawford in the prime-time soap opera telenovela Wicked Wicked Games, which was her first appearance on the small screen. In 2007, she landed her breakout role when she joined the cast of The L Word, playing closeted lesbian actress Niki Stevens, girlfriend of Jenny Schecter, in seasons 5 and 6. She also appeared in South of Nowhere as Sasha Miller, a love interest of Aiden Dennison. French then played Elle, a mysterious nanny, in two episodes of Gossip Girl. Roles in CSI: Miami and One Tree Hill followed.

In 2009, French had a supporting role in the independent horror film Sutures, and in 2011 she played the lead in the independent romantic comedy Language of a Broken Heart, directed by Rocky Powell. She appeared in the rock musical film Girltrash: All Night Long as Sid, a party girl and aspiring actress, and starred alongside Jason Ritter in the short film Atlantis, a romance set against the final launch of the NASA space shuttle Atlantis. She also has a leading role in the independent thriller The Red House and a supporting role in Channeling, as well as a role in the upcoming independent feminist film Farah Goes Bang. Her Instagram following stands at 9 thousand.
