Biography
About Karole Rocher
Karole Rocher, a French actress born on July 4, 1974, has built a career defined by collaborations with some of France's most distinctive directors. Her early life in Sartrouville, a working-class town, and her Corsican heritage on her mother's side shaped her, with summers spent in Corsica with her grandparents. At 17, she left home and worked as a waitress before being discovered in 1995 by costume designer Gigi Lepage. That encounter led to her appearance in a Princess Erika music video directed by Olivier Dahan, which opened the door to her first film role in Rachid Bouchareb's L'honneur de ma famille.
Her filmography is a list of notable French cinema. A collaboration with Sylvie Verheyde began in 1997 with A Brother, followed by Princesses in 2000. She worked with Anne Fontaine in Comment j'ai tué mon père (2001) and Arnaud des Pallières in Adieu (2003). The year 2009 proved pivotal: she played a fictionalized version of herself in Maïwenn's Le Bal des actrices, and took on the lead female role in the Canal+ series Braquo, where she developed the character of Lieutenant Roxane Delgado over several seasons. That success led to films like Les Yeux de sa mère, Les Neiges du Kilimanjaro, Dernière Séance, and Polisse, the latter earning her a César nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She continued with supporting roles in Confession of a Child of the Century, Tip Top, Les Yeux jaunes des crocodiles, and Fastlife.
Off screen, Karole is the mother of four daughters: Barbara, Gina, Angelina, and Carmen. She remains close to actors Nicolas Duvauchelle and JoeyStarr, whom she met through Braquo and Le Bal des actrices, and who all appeared together in Polisse. At 52, she has brown hair and brown eyes, with natural breasts.
