Karen Philipp

Standing 5'7" with an average build, Karen Philipp was born in Salina, Kansas, and grew up to become an actress and former Playboy model. She rose to national prominence in 1968 as one of the two female vocalists in the second iteration of Sérgio Mendes and Brasil '66, debuting on their Top Ten album, Fool on the Hill. She stayed with the group, and its successor Brasil '77, until 1972 when she left to pursue acting.

As an actress, Philipp is best remembered for playing Lt. Dish in the first season of M*A*S*H. Although her role was written out after two episodes, a shot of her remained in the opening credits for the rest of the series. She later had a recurring role as Robin Rollin on Quincy, M.E. during seasons 3 through 6. In September 1972, she posed nude in Playboy, a pictorial that promoted her M*A*S*H role.
