About Julia Ituma
Standing 6'4", Julia Ituma was an Italian volleyball player. Born in Milan to Nigerian parents, she began her career in the A2 league, playing three seasons before debuting in Serie A1 in 2022 with Igor Volley Novara. Often compared to Paola Egonu, Ituma won the Gold Medal at the 2022 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival and the Women's Junior European Volleyball Championship with the Italian national team, scoring 21 points in the final.
Tragically, her life was cut short. On 13 April 2023, aged 18, she died by suicide in Istanbul, where her club was staying for a Champions League semi-final match. Julia Ituma was born on 8 October 2004.
