About Joy Behar
At age 83, Joy Behar remains one of the most recognizable faces on daytime television. The American comedian and TV host has co-hosted ABC's The View since its very first episode in 1997. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, on October 7, 1942, she is of Italian descent and grew up in a working-class family. Behar's career spans over four decades, starting in 1984 when she was around 41 years old. She won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2009 for her work on The View, a highlight of her long career.
Before joining The View, Behar hosted her own shows on HLN and Current TV, including The Joy Behar Show and Joy Behar: Say Anything!. She also wrote a book, The Great Gasbag: An A-Z Study Guide to Surviving Trump World. In her personal life, Behar married college professor Joe Behar in 1965, and they had one daughter, Eve. They divorced in 1981. She began dating Steve Janowitz in 1982, and they finally married in 2011. She has a grandson named Luca.
