Jewel Kilcher

At 5'6" with an average build and hazel eyes, Jewel Kilcher cuts a familiar figure. She is an American singer-songwriter, musician, producer, actress, author, and poet, born on May 23, 1974, in Payson, Utah. She has received four Grammy Award nominations and, as of 2015, has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Growing up in Homer, Alaska, she sang and yodeled with her father, a local musician, and at fifteen earned a partial scholarship to study operatic voice at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan.

After graduating, Jewel began writing and performing in San Diego clubs. Her debut album, Pieces of You, released in 1995, went 12-times platinum and became one of the best-selling debut albums of all time. Its singles "Who Will Save Your Soul", "You Were Meant for Me", and "Foolish Games" all charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
