Biography
About Jennifer Nicole Lee
Jennifer Nicole Lee is an American fitness model who turned a 70-pound weight loss into a career as a fitness guru, author, and motivational speaker. Born on Friday the 13th of June 1975 in Rochester, New York, she grew up in Tennessee as the daughter of Italian immigrants. She earned a Bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, then moved to Miami, Florida, where she lives with her husband Edward and her two sons, Jaden and Dylan.
Lee's path to fitness was not a natural one. She describes herself as having "no athletic background whatsoever" and says she struggled with her weight her entire life. After weighing 170 pounds at marriage and climbing to 200 pounds after her second pregnancy, she lost 70 pounds and won the title "Miss Bikini America" in 1996. That victory launched her career. She founded JNL, Inc. in January 2004, later expanding it into JNL, Inc. Worldwide. She has published e-books and print books, created the JNL Fusion workout program, launched two clothing lines, and opened the Fitness Model Factory in Miami in March 2011, a production studio for fitness model coaching and photography.
Lee's list of accomplishments is long. She has appeared on 44 magazine covers, including three on Oxygen magazine, and was named Muscle & Fitness Magazine's 2006 Ms. Muscle and Fitness, sharing the title with Alicia Marie. In 2012, CBS News called her "America's Sexiest Fitness Mom." She has been a brand ambassador for BSN supplements and has been spotted on the set of the Michael Bay film Pain & Gain as a Sun Gym trainer. Her trademark phrase is "Strong is the new skinny," a philosophy she applies through her JNL Fusion workouts, which she designed around her own routine of four 45-minute sessions per week. She also produces the "Fabulously Fit Moms" DVD series and hosts an online cooking show called "Fun Fit Foodie." With a 5'9" athletic frame, brown hair, hazel eyes, and measurements of 36-24-34, Lee remains a recognizable figure in fitness media. Her influence was noted by Yahoo Sports, which named her one of the "Top Three Females in the Fitness Industry" in 2011.
