About Jennifer Connelly
Jennifer Connelly is an Academy Award-winning American actress with a career spanning over four decades. She began as a child model before making her feature film debut in the 1984 crime drama Once Upon a Time in America. Her early work included the horror film Phenomena, the fantasy musical Labyrinth, and the superhero adventure The Rocketeer. She earned critical acclaim for her performance in Dark City and for her role as a drug addict in Requiem for a Dream.
In 2002, Connelly won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Alicia Nash in A Beautiful Mind. She then appeared in a string of high-profile films, including Hulk, Dark Water, Little Children, Blood Diamond, The Day the Earth Stood Still, He's Just Not That Into You, and Creation. More recently, she has taken on supporting roles in Noah, Alita: Battle Angel, and Top Gun: Maverick. Since 2020, she has starred in the dystopian series Snowpiercer.
Connelly was named an Amnesty International Ambassador for Human Rights Education in 2005. She has served as the face of Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Revlon, and Shiseido, and has been featured on lists of the world's most beautiful women by Time, Vanity Fair, Esquire, and the Los Angeles Times. Born in Cairo, New York, she is of Irish, Norwegian, and Jewish descent. Three of her critically acclaimed films feature strikingly similar scenes of her standing alone on a pier, a coincidence according to the directors. She has 1.8 million Instagram followers.
