Janet Jones

Janet began her career at age 13, appearing in productions like Annie (1982), Staying Alive (1983), and Snow White Live (1980). Her big break came with The Flamingo Kid (1984), followed by A Chorus Line (1985), American Anthem (1986), and Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988). She also had a bit part in The Beastmaster (1982) and played a phys ed teacher in Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" music video. In 1992, she appeared in A League of Their Own with Geena Davis and Madonna. She later hosted an infomercial for Jackie Chan and served as the "master instructor" for a workout video by The FIRM. Janet also appeared in the movie Alpha Dog alongside her daughter Paulina Gretzky.

In the 1980s, Janet was engaged to tennis star Vitas Gerulaitis and dated actors Bruce Willis and Nels Van Patten. She met Wayne Gretzky in 1984 while he was a judge on Dance Fever, and they reconnected at a Lakers game in 1987. They married on July 17, 1988, when Janet was four months pregnant with Paulina, born December 19, 1988.
