Born on Sunday 16th of May 1982 in Chicago, Illinois, United States, Hammer began her career at around 23 years old, working actively from 2005 to 2017. She is a co-lineal descendant of financier Armand Hammer. After attending Francis W. Parker School, she graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Communications, during which time a Playboy Special Editions audition led to her covering the Spring 2004 College Girls issue. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling and entertainment, then relocated to Las Vegas in 2008. Hammer has also worked under the names Jesse Hammer and Sophia Taylor.
