Jacinda Ardern

Few world leaders have combined high office with new parenthood, but Jacinda Ardern did both. She served as New Zealand's 40th prime minister from 2017 to 2023, leading the Labour Party through earthquakes, a terrorist attack, and a global pandemic. Before that she was a list MP from 2008, then MP for Mount Albert from 2017. Born in Hamilton, she entered politics young, active since 1999 when she was about 18. Now retired from office, she works as an author.

Ardern's personal life drew global attention. In 2018 she became the first New Zealand prime minister to give birth while in office, only the second elected head of government to do so after Benazir Bhutto. Her daughter, Neve Te Aroha, arrived that June. Ardern married television presenter Clarke Gayford in January 2024 at Craggy Range Winery in Hawke's Bay. The couple had been together for years before the wedding. Her transition from politician to writer marks a new chapter, though she remains a prominent voice on the world stage.

With brown hair, green eyes, and an average build, she stands 5'5" and weighs 126 lbs. Her measurements are 34–26–38, with a 34D bra cup, naturally so. On Instagram she commands a following of 1.7 million, sharing glimpses of her life and work. As a New Zealander of Caucasian ethnicity, she continues to influence public discourse, now through her writing rather than parliamentary speeches.
