French singer Isabelle Geffroy, known professionally as Zaz, was born on 1 May 1980 in Tours, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. She has been active since 2001, starting her career around age 21, and has spent 25 years in the music industry.
Zaz blends jazz, French variety, soul, and acoustic styles. Her breakout single "Je veux" came from her self-titled debut album, released on 10 May 2010. She has released five studio albums: Zaz, Recto verso, Paris, Effet miroir, and Isa, plus two live albums: "Sans tsu tsu" and "Sur la route". By February 2023, she had sold over 5 million albums worldwide, with 2 million of those outside France. She is slim, with brown hair and blue eyes.
