Biography
About Ingrid Chauvin
Born on 3 October 1973 in Argenteuil, Ile-de-France, France, Ingrid Chauvin is a French actress of Caucasian ethnicity, recognized for her roles in French television dramas. At 52 years old, she stands 5'8" with a slim build, hazel eyes, and natural blonde hair. Her career began in 1994, and she has remained active for over three decades, predominantly in TV movies and miniseries.
Chauvin's path to acting was not straightforward. As a child, she dreamed of performing, but her parents opposed it. After her studies, she worked as a professional make-up artist while attending modeling castings. Her early successes allowed her to take acting classes, and she was soon noticed by AB Production, leading to small roles in youth-oriented TV series like Salut les Musclés, Seconde B, Les Années fac, Le Miel et les abeilles, L'École des passions, and Studio des artistes.
Her serious start came in theatre. In 1998, she acted alongside Michel Creton in A.R. Gurney's Sylvia at the Théâtre Hébertot in Paris, and later opposite Michel Roux in Patrick Cargill's Tromper n'est pas joué at the Théâtre Saint-Georges. She toured these roles across the French countryside. Chauvin also participated in an episode of the prime-time series Les Bœuf-carottes in 1997, and appeared in Marc Angelos's B.R.I.G.A.D. in 1999. In 2000, she accepted a role in the police drama Femmes de loi, a series she became closely associated with. She continued in TV movies, including Dormir avec le diable (2000) and Les Percutés (1999). In 2001, she played Marie Valbonne in Méditerranée, TF1's prominent summer series. In 2005, she returned to summer sagas with the lead in the six-episode Dolmen. By 2007, a sequel to Dolmen was planned, along with the TV movie Chassé-croisé. Her persistence has built a steady career, with no tattoos or piercings. She is straight.
