About Ingra Liberato

Edited by the community

Slim and brown-haired, Ingra Liberato carries a quiet presence shaped by a lifetime in front of the camera. Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, on September 21, 1966, she grew up surrounded by filmmaking; her parents, Chico and Alba Liberato, were both filmmakers. She made her screen debut at age seven as a mermaid in the short film Ementário (1973), directed by her father and written by her mother.

She went on to appear in successful soap operas at the now-defunct Rede Manchete, including Pantanal and The Story of Ana Raio and Zé Trovão, before moving to Rede Globo. In 2002 she relocated to Porto Alegre. Her feature work has earned her three Best Actress awards, including one at the Gramado Film Festival in 2007. Brazilian by nationality and mixed-race (primarily Caucasian), she has also worked as a model and writer. With over five decades in the industry, she remains a respected figure in Brazilian entertainment.
